I went to the gym but it was packed. I did a quick chest session and got out

45km of cycling already this week. Hopefully another 35 on Friday then possibly some downhill (horrible pedal-ups) on Sunday. Base level fitness is improving but I'm letting myself down with over eating again.

5 mile run last night, agony with the foot today. Guessing it's not going to sort itself with rest and I may have to speak to the doctor (if I can get through)

Took my lad to the gym with me this morning. We had a good back session but he started complaining when I decided 50 minutes in to get on to the compound exercises (lol).

He's been asleep all afternoon

Any recommendations for shorts?

Ones without liners, not excessively long, suitable for daily wear and mountain biking. Zip pockets are a bonus.

Cheers!

Got the turbo trainer out for the first time in a long time yesterday. Feck that thing hurts.

Only managed 8 miles, but it's a start.

Still suffering with the planter facilitis, but insoles seem to be doing the trick in reducing the pain.

I've got a pair of Puma shorts that I'd swear by for casual riding... they're that shiny, slippery material, but not stretchy like Lycra.
No zippers for the pockets - but I put all my stuff in a Camelback anyway - can't stand wallets, lighters, phones, etc. rattling around in my pockets.... upsets my spin. :D

Just done another lunch time ride and am now Local Legend on about 6 segments. That's consistent effort for you.

In the month of November I've ridden 304km and already this week I'm up to 54km.

I rode home through the woods yesterday and set a new PR by more than 30 seconds too. The segment is 2.2km long, 147m of climbing, max grade is 18.7% and some of it is chunky rocks up a farmers field. I did it in exactly 15mins (party)

I got to the gym early, so had a pretty peaceful back session. It's nice when you don't have to wait for anything.

Nice work Nutz!

I cycled in again this morning and have learned that 0 degrees celsius is the point where my knee metalwork gets too cold to cycle comfortably. It happened before but I wasn't sure if it was something else causing it. This time I was well rested so I'm certain the temperature/wind chill was the main contributor.

Cycling home through the woods again today. Probably 15-17km with a 500m climbing. Got a big ride tomorrow after work too tomorrow.

I did a joint 1st place longest ride on Friday at 41km. It had some tough climbs but not a huge amount in total at just 668m (although my friend's Garmin thinks it was 740m). I made the mistake of only having a pot noodle all day before going for a night ride at 4pm. Stupid mistake. My legs were dead that night but not so bad the next day strangely.

Took my lad to the gym. We did shoulders and triceps. My weak shoulders struggled so I got my revenge with a killer tricep work out.

Last week I really stepped up my training for this charity ride I'm organising.

I totalled:
127km (79 miles) which equals the distance of the charity ride.
39km (24 miles) longest ride.
1725m (5660ft) climbed.

I did, however, have yesterdays sliced short (literally). I set out to do 50km (30 miles) but I turned a corner, PSSHHHHH. Sliced the rear tyre wide open. I stuck a tube in, got everything seated, put the bike on the floor and PSSHHHHH, I sat the bike down on a thorn. I ended up walking home.

Cycling home through the woods tonight. Couple of cheeky Downhill trails along the way of course.
