After the checks, a 90 minute drive in the wagon and off to the test center for the big test....

PASSED with 1 minor fault for a miss timed mirror check. (rock)

Then home via Bullseye motor spares and straight in to replacing the pesky wheel bearing and track rod end, some say that you need a hydraulic press but I find a large hammer with determination and industrial language works just fine.

Cars fixed, license achieved and dinners in the ovan, not a bad day at all.

Edit
I also called my contact at DHL and got my start date, Thursday is the next available induction so 8AM on the 20th it is (muscle)
Shame about the shift pattern (Thursday-Monday) but I was put on that for class 2, now I have my class 1 I should be able to move on to something which gives me some Sunday bike time.
Congrats mate. Seems to have taken no time at all to get qualified. Bet your looking forward to getting started now

I started the process a little over a year ago, the biggest challenge being money as I needed enough to pay for the training and see me over the dip that I'm in now, I might get a small amount of pay on the 25th of this month, or I might have to wait until next month (whew)

I really can't wait to get on with it and get some polish on that reversing lark... The money will be useful too I suppose (devil)

Headed 4 hours up the coast yesterday, visiting a good friend and her two little girls for a few days with the whole Brady bunch.

Off to the beach/rock pools today after paying an eye bleeding tourist fleecing breakfast bill at a local cafe (lol)

But the coffee was on point so it was worth it, and sedated the kids grumbling.

First day back in the office after Christmas yesterday, deep tissue massage last night and today was the coldest cycle into work I've done - it was deeply unpleasant.

I forgot to buy coffee for the office so that was not a good start.

JustGiving page created for my fundraiser. Just need to get some photos done and then I'll share it.

I'm not sorry for those of you who have me on social media sites for the repeated sharing you'll see, statistically people don't donate before seeing the page 4 times.

I won't share the link on here as this feels too captive an audience but if you're interested then reach out and I'll provide you with the link.

I had an appointment for a deep clean at the dentist so I took the afternoon off.

I've been out for a long walk with the dog.

Hmmm..... I'm trying to adapt to a new phone. It has more options than I expected, and right now it's a pita to read/relearn stuff.
And it's red....I thought I'd ordered one in black/grey....??

But it was free, so I can't really complain. Thanks, Obama... you're OK. (y)

Koalas are known as drop bears? This gives me visions of the music video for "Somebody to Love - Boogie Pimps".

My brother is supposed to be taking me out for a meal and a few beers for my birthday.

The initial plan was him picking me up, us going for a meal then having a couple of beers for a catch up.

He messaged me asking to meet at his local pub before we go for the meal. I can only get there if I drive, which I pointed out. I don't have a drink when I'm driving. So I tongue in cheek suggested I pick him up and take him to the pub. He accepted my offer (facepalm)

He's now messaged me to say he's finished work early so can I pick him up any earlier :@

Giving the car a quick grot-removing clean before tyre fitting this afternoon, enjoying a lovely homemade curry and then replacing my broken jockey wheels before tomorrow's after work ride.

Requirement is for all kids to have two RATs a week going to school so today I picked up 2 weeks worth of RATs from 3 different schools for 4 kids, one kid to a pre school year assessment, PCR test for me, pool cleaned and kids in for a swim, Byron dropped to a mates for the afternoon, dinner sorted when Jess got back from placement and 5 gins down by dinner clean up time.

Back into school routine tomorrow

Having a quiet day today, and first shift on the new job tonight from 20:00 after a phone call this morning, I should have started last Sunday but on my assessment the assessor said she wasn't sure and someone would call to confirm that, nobody called me.

I hope it's a one-off glitch in the system but time will tell, I'm just happy to be getting on with it 8)
