Got a proper grilling on the 1st aid course assessment (gah) was almost like they think we are paramedics.

I passed and took a lot of confidence from it as was a very tough assessment. Unfortunately the lad I was with got NYC.

Today I am finishing processing what I shot at Oulton on Saturday , I decided to break with convention and shoot into the sun but to stop everything being "blown out " I used the spot metering mode , I must say I am really really pleased with the results .

I love spot metering, I tend to shoot in that mode most often.

Great snaps mate!

I'm selling 22 for a grand

How do you transport them? I imagine parcels are thrown about a fair bit. I imagine these spiders arriving with legs missing.

Are they fully grown or little things?

Most were adults. You wrap them in tissue then put each one in its own container. You make sure that the container is packed out with tissue and then seal the container so the lid can't come off The containers are packed into a box. The box was filled with bubble wrap.

A serious knock to a spider can rupture the abdomen and that's fatal.

When my mate transports his butterflies they're frozen. Not sure how they do it....dry ice or something.
OR.....they stick 'em in the freezer next to the fishfingers, maybe...??

Camping in our old camper van in the Dordogne. Works quite well now we've done it up. We haven't used it because of covid, but we needed a break, just a couple of days to try it.

Done 4 hours hiking with the dogs this afternoon, they are nice and quiet now :D

Time for a beer (groupdrink)

It's 107F right now. This has to be a new record. The A/C can barely keep up.
This is fricking ridiculous.
Obviously this means I'm doing nothing other than hiding indoors.

On the plus side I've ordered a new guitar today, so I'm a bit excited-ish. It'll be the first brand-new guitar I've bought in a very long time.....and the deal was so ridiculously good I'd be a fool to pass it up. Quite chuffed about it, TBH.
