But out of all of those only Senna was my hero. So the others don't count.

First time I ever cried at the news of a stranger's death. It hit me and I struggled to understand why.

I'm not a massive F1 fan but the Senna memorial at Imola is very special to see, very moving place and its clear people travel from the world over just to visit. Very proud to say I have been there

I always think Jackie Stewart is worth mentioning when it comes to this sorta thing....there's a guy whose biggest contributions to racing occurred AFTER he stopped driving. That's a very rare occurrence in any sport.
He doesn't get the recognition he deserves....and to his credit, probably likes it better that way.

Coincidentally the same thing happened to me when Graham Hill died, he was part of my childhood and the battles with Stewart et al loomed large for me.

Aside from close family, I think it's the passing of the heroes of your youth that brings home your own mortality in to sharp focus. When Joe Strummer died suddenly it affected me quite a bit.

I see his son has been signed up for F1 team Haas.

It's been 7 years since his dad's skiing accident. Still no update on his condition.

By all accounts he's quick too. I hope they judge him on his own merits and not his father, but i doubt it....

He's leading the F2 championship so he's got to be decent.

I watched Sunday's GP. It was on a short circuit so there was plenty of decent racing.

Shame about George. He looked very comfortable in Hamilton's car.

It does show Hamilton isnt as special as he is billed tbh. The Mercedes is a hell of a car compared to the others.

George showed Bottas up big time.

Good race though.

He seems to be struggling in F1. I suppose he needs time to get used to the car.

I do find it strange that no one has mentioned his dad and his dad's condition. I wonder if it's to do with money? There could be a source of income if Michael is still alive. I don't know, I'm guessing, but the accident was back in 2013 and there's conflicting reports about his condition.

The car is one of the worst on the grid by all accounts. He's got backing from Ferrari as its a Ferrari engine in the Haas. I suspect he will be groomed for bigger teams in the next few years.

I'd like to know his Dad's condition - even if its confirmation of his mental state at least. Such a shame.
