Weekender - 10th-12th September

I'm just wondering if there would be any interest in going back to the Isle of Man for a weekend?

It'll be the usual format: Sail from Liverpool on the Friday morning then the lunchtime ferry back home on the Sunday.

Best case the weather is ace and we're out on the bikes all day. Worst case we do a pub crawl :)

Ferry prices are currently £138 return.

Scratch that.

There's no motorcycle places left for the morning sailing on the 10th.

The weekend before there's a big cycling event and a drag car racing event

The following weekend has a festival of motoring.

It looks like the Isle of Man is trying to pack in as many events as possible to get some tourism money back.

How about Yorkshire? Somewhere a bit different for most of us

How about something that roughly follows the Pennine way from the Peaks up to the Scottish Borders (mostly Yorkshire)

I like the idea, would have to work out a plan of daily mileage though. It's a fair trek from here just to Yorkshire.

We could head up to the edge of the Yorkshire Dales on the first day. Somewhere like Skipton or Keighley.

Saturday we could go through the Yorkshire Dales and North Pennines. Skipton to somewhere like Haydon Bridge is 4 hours according to google maps (using the scenic route). We could loop from there towards Keswick then Kendal then back to Skipton. It would be a full days riding - about 300 to 350 miles.

Then head back on the Sunday. Those more southern than others have always got the option of hitting some motorway miles if they want to get home a bit quicker.
