I'm intending riding as long as I can during the winter (gritters were out on the M5 this afternoon though ). I bought some gloves which have an inner lining but after yesterday I feel they're going to be no good on a decent ride. I only did about 40 miles which included a cup of tea stop.

What do you recommend to keep my hands warm? Oxford heated grips for about £50, dunno about the 2 hours to fit them though, I usually balls up when fitting something. The rest of me was warm ish btw.

Heated gloves are probably better than grips. The gloves should keep all of your handv warm. Grips only warm the bits in contact with it.

As Kwacky said, the problem with heated grips is they warm the inside while the wind chill cools the outside, hand guards or Muffs help with that.

I liked my heated gloves but they are not the best for a longer ride unless you either add a spare pair of batteries or wire them to the bike.
