I'm thinking I should get round to booking my TD with nolimits and smallboy that I won over christmas..

Current thinking is either
  • Cadwell Park
  • Oulton Park
  • Donnington Park
The only one I've ridden before is Donnington.. What are peoples thoughts ????

I love Donny. Big, wide flowing track.

Cadwell is ace. It's like a ride on some fantastic country roads. I've not been for ages. I really should go back.

Never been to Oulton.

Cadwell was fun, I enjoyed it, Donny was also fun, so either IMO Never done Oulton either. To be honest all the time not doing any track days, i dont seem to be missing it as i thought. I am missing more riding my bike in general.

If you have not ridden Cadwell, its worth the effort. Its a bit old school like Mallory but all the better for that at the 'enjoyment' level.

Quite a narrow track with two decent straights, the Mountain for the jump and lots of nice bends where you can shoot up the inside on the brakes.

Donny and Oulton get my vote.

Cadwell is fine but all too easy to get the corners wrong. Mallory is OK, but too small and muddy at times frankly.

Brands Hatch is fun too - indy is a bit small but the full track.....

I love Donny.. prefer it to Cadwell to be honest.

I'd be keen to try Oulton Park

I'm in two minds about donnington. Great track, but I have done it before and it's the only track I've crashed at.

Serious pondering, but I want to get something booked in the next week or two as I think days are filling fast.

If it helps, I've crashed at all three. (nod)
I like each of them, but differently.
Imho..;
Oulton has been very wet, but is a great mix when it is dry enough to push on.
Donnington can be fast & is interesting enough, but my crashes there have all been pretty fast ones.
Cadwell is closest to me, and (as well as tending to be less costly ) is the one I know best of the three. It's also therefore the track I've come off most at.

Hth. :D

Cadwell is great but a lottery with the weather ,you can crash at any track thats just the risk of track days

try and get Brands full circuit , its closer to you and an iconic circuit.

I expect that Jack will have a more extensive experience to draw from than me, but Oulton has been the most consistently unseasonally wet for my visits.

It's fully booked. I think they only do one or two days a year now on the full GP circuit.

I also don't want to take the piss out of smallboy. I know they put up the competition to use one of their bikes, but brands would be about 8 hours on the road and a lot of fuel.

Plus that first corner scares the shit out of me just watching people ride it :D

I've been lucky with the weather at Oulton the past 3 years but prior to that it was rarely dry or warm
Last year I got thoroughly soaked at Cadwell , so wet and dark they had to call a halt to the final race of the day and I was about as far from cover as its possible to get .

Paddock hill does look scary Ive not ridden it but I have walked up and down it more times than I'd like and it is probably the steepest drop on UK circuit , I have done a taster session at cadwell in the evening and I found Mansfield to be quite scary , the drop isnt as steep but you have to brake coming downhill , I always felt that I was 3 degrees away from cartwheeling down the track . At PHB you have to accelerate up the hill to Druids so you wouldn't get that feeling but I have seen a good few bikes completely bottom out , which I imagine is also quite disconcerting.

Turn 1 to Coppice is incredible, it's just a shame you can't do the national circuit on trackdays.

Like you say, hot and sticky and there's nothing better when it comes to flow.
