Thrashed it around the roads of North Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.
Met 2 friends at Squires then led down to Willingham Woods, as many B roads as possible.

Then Sergio led us over the Humber Bridge to the new NY 500 cafe near Pickering.

Gaz then led to the A19 where we said our goodbyes and headed home, on the last stint our Bluetooth headsets decided to start working properly, I'm sure they forgot about me being able to hear them, some interesting conversation occurred (giggle)

Washed the weekend's bug collection off the bike and saw the opportunity to test the new wheel cleaner, which smells more pleasant that the stuff I used to use ;) I didn't expect much metal dust among the chain gunk and dust but it "lit up" pretty fast, it's not that great on grease but it's designed for cars so I didn't expect it to be really.

It was the Tesla S. It was being driven by a youngish guy, looked like he was in his late 20s.

I was on a dual carriageway and he pulled over to let me overtake. I wasn't going very fast. We came up to a set of lights. There was a car in lane one so I dropped back and waved him across to get into lane 2, which he did. He swung across to the right to give me room to filter. We both gunned it off the lights. The launch control on the MV meant that the Telsa got a small lead but to be fair to the MV it didn't fall too far behind. It's a long flowing road and not much traffic about. I backed off a bit and he pulled alongside me. It looked like his girlfriend was laughing her head off. A couple of thumbs up and then a rolling test from about 60mph to see who was quickest.

This went on for a few minutes. As we came up to a roundabout the lights were on red so he pulled up to my left and we had a quick chat. I told him I know I can't beat an electric car. He was impressed with the speed and sound of the MV. He couldn't believe such a small bike had so much power.

I won't say what speeds were involved but I do know what sort of speeds I need to hit in future to start pulling away (devil) (bandit) (devil) (bandit)

These are the best types of encounters with car people aren't they.

I know it won't be until north of 135mph before you'll be pulling, that's when the curve backs off for them typically.

I think I told you guys about the Supercharged Civic Type R that I played with.. 3rd and 4th gear I was quicker and 5th and 6th we were neck and neck. Both our top speeds were identical so we just sat alongside each other on the motorway with nothing happening haha. He was VERY surprised I was on a 600 because his mate with a 1000 would only just pull away from him. We chatted for 20 minutes about his car afterward.

I hadn't realized electric cars were so quick! - Then again, nothing spins-up like an electric motor, so I really shouldn't be surprised.

The latest Model S PLAID is Nuckin Futs... 0-120mph in under 6 seconds.

Not bad for a 4 wheeled battery pack

Yes...I just looked it up.... 0-60 in a hair under 2 seconds, which is literally "stupid fast"..... they're not exactly giving them away though, judging by the prices, which is probably a good idea, all things considered.

A customer has an electric Porsche. He says it's insanely fast. To me though, if I had enough money to buy a Porsche I'd want a petrol one so that at least I could hear the engine. The plank even drove it with a flat tyre to a garage a few miles away to get the puncture fixed! (facepalm)

Yeah.... I'd want a petrol version too - an engine is the heart of a car... especially a sports car, and the fuel is it's blood. An electric car is about as visceral & inspirational as a microwave oven.
