Its been a bit of day today, so i got the bike out for a good old fashioned ragging for an hour this evening..... Argh that's therapy right there ha ha ha ha ha.
Took my mind off the track bike, cant remember if i have said on here or not, but in Almeria last week i blew it up!
I was going to break it, then changed my mind and had a word with MSG Racing. They can pull the engine to bits and take a look.
The bike is getting on, but apart from the engine, its a sound machine IMO. Lets see what the prognosis is and then i can make a decision on what i will do next.

MSG are the Suzuki-whisperers.. they have made some fantastic race winning machines. I'm sure your engine is in safe hands.

I hope its a not too expensive fix, Frankie.

A blown engine rates as my worst biking experience to date....even beating crashing and hurting myself.

Put new grips on the KX450F, changed the Oil & Filter which i do after every 3 rides.
New chain has lasted 3 meetings it stretches chains like they are plasticine so will buy another today and fit it later
I am finding MX maintenance much more involved than a road bike

Rode up to a local MX track to see some friends riding about. Ended up having a quick lap, well it was two as I could not find the way off the track lol... I was knackered lmao.... I got muddy and so did my bike,,,, that was just on the lane to get to the track!!!

Upside - cant read my number plate due to mud ;)

Found a puncture in the rear tyre, dead centre but it's gone in at an angle, I will get it to the bike shop and see if it's repairable in the week.

I hope it is, it's a virtually new Road 5 GT.

Risky though. Imagine a repaired tyre blowing out?

It depends where it is. I've used repaired tyres on sports bikes

It's about there, I spent some time in my younger days as a tyre fitter so I'm not scared of a properly repaired tyre, but with the bulge just below it I can see it's gone in at a relatively shallow angle and can't predict weather the bike shop will want to repair it or not. I would like to see inside it and give my own opinion but I doubt they will allow that.

I will drop it in to Doncaster Motorcycles, probably on Monday. The bike is on it's centre stand with the wheel already in the boot of the car.

Michelins can be repaired as they have kevlar rather than steel belts.

+1 As long as you're not doing silly speeds on the road or doing trackdays with it, there's absolutely nothing wrong with a properly repaired tyre.

Took it to JHP as the heated seat option had disappeared on the last software update. 15 minutes later and all back working correctly

I can't tell you how I know that the GIVI screen makes negative pressure and tries to lift my jacket up/forwards at triple digits, must have read it somewhere, (bandit)

Nasty looking hole there. You have to wonder what the hell gouged that out. (doh)

No experience with Michelin but I had a Bridgestone plugged and then forgot about it and did a trackday on it without issue.

(gah)
The tyre is too badly damaged inside so it won't seal to the patch, needs a new one, not cheap those road 5's (shocked)

£195 when I pick it up tomorrow ($)

Took the SX out for a couple of hours. I headed down towards Worcester way. Mixed amounts of traffic, a few road works and some showers but it was time on the bike so it's all good.
