Re: Blades Scalpel
I've got a 180/55 m7rr on the ktm, was a little disappointed that it didn't take a 190 bit I've never had an issue with running out of tire. I have used every mm of the tyre on both sides though

Re: Blades Scalpel
Can you get the Bridgestone S21 in a 60 section rear? After the write up they got in the PB test, they must be worth a go.

Haha cheers Monty. I was a bit slow to the Triumph party I know, but I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.Monty wrote:Finally, a proper bike!
You could try fitting a 190/55

Re: Blades Scalpel
Awesome Blade. Loving this project/ touring equipped bike! As for tyres maybe try the BT 016PRO. I've had them on for approx 800 miles now and have used them in the rain and dry, sweeping and straight roads and to be fair they havent missed a beat for a reasonable price. But then again they are an older tyre and realise you want to try newer tyres which I understand.
Anyway will watch this thread please keep it updated, love the 675 Daytona good choice

Re: Blades Scalpel
I'm confused.
1) We don't have the facility to move threads to facebook
2) Blade is clearly still replying to this thread while it's on Tankslap.
3) Blade isn't on Facebook. He's told us that himself.

Re: Blades Scalpel
For the benefit of the truth.
The shock is 3rd hand. I bought it from the guy selling me the bike who bought it 2nd hand himself. Too good a deal to walk away from.
I've bought 120/180 Tyres. Never said or thought I was a quick rider, far from it I bought the 675 as I'm very rusty on track. I had a slide not because I'm a talented rider but because the tyres in the 675 are 5 years old in manufacture, 10 years old in design and never were cutting edge in there day. Basically the tyre slid as it's shite and it was cold so I've purchased something more modern.
Chinese levers. Just creating conversation and seeking advice / opinions.
Thought a on going review of the bike and any mods might of been of interest, that's all

It was a joke made out in public where everyone to see. It's not a snide comment or snipe made behind someone's back or in a WhatsApp group. We take the piss out of each other, all of us, always have done.
There is nothing more to read into than that.

Re: Blades Scalpel
Blade, the thread on your bike is a good idea and I for one am looking forward to hearing about how you get on with it.
Everyone’s approach to bike set up is different, and is a very individual thing.
The comments on FB I took as just a bit of friendly ribbing and not intended to be malicious. I personally found the comments amusing, but not at your expense but more mates having a piss take.
