New Panigale V4R
With race exhaust makes 234bhp and weighs 169kg giving power to weight of 1.42bhp per kg
these figures are getting insane.

Re: New Panigale V4R
That's about the same weight as my little CBR400rr, which in turn is the about the same as my D675 that has over twice the bhp. ^ That ^ is almost doubled again.!!!duke63 wrote:....weighs 169kg ...]
You've got to wonder where they're going to up-rate it with the Superleggera version. -Helium filled carbon fibre ?

Re: New Panigale V4R
The rumours are that it is a pure racebike with lights and wont be great to ride on the road.
the standard bike was insane enough.

I like the look of this one.. it shouts function over form to me which I love for a performance machine.

Back to my earlier comparison.:
My Babyblade is a cracking little bike imho, plenty fast enough to go anywhere on the uk roads & show a clean set of heels to 99% of other vehicles if the mood takes me. Nonetheless it can be ridden reasonably pleasantly at "socially & legally acceptable" speeds.
My Daytona is frenetic screaming weapon, and an absolute gem to ride. She pulls you away at warp-speed with the smallest hint of encouragement, & her surging power delivery is addictive, just begging you to give her more. That coupled with scalpel sharp handling & a geometry that is based on the rider in the "racing tuck" make her a brilliant track tool imho.
However although I do ride the Triumph on the road, the experience generally just leaves me cold.: Unless you are riding like a lawless sociopath on high on cocaine, you're simply never coming near to using anything of her ability. It simply feels rather wasteful & unsatisfying. Also I do feel "somewhat conspicuous" as I filter through queues of commuting traffic at <30mph in a racing tuck.!
So fwiw I can fully relate to their "Won't be great" rumours.

Re: New Panigale V4R
It isn't meant to be a road bike though is it? It's purely a way for them to get an advantage in WSBK. Sod the people that buy it as a road bike - either they'll take it on track and have a great laugh or they will use it once a year and never take the bike over 3k miles

It'd be alright if it didn't have all that silver plastic bull$#!t on the tank.
Cheapens the look of it. Although I'll bet it doesn't cheapen the price.

Re: New Panigale V4R
I test rode the v4s with Akrapovic full system for 240 miles.
Was it too much? yes of course it was but then so is my wife's 2 litre diesel that will do 130 mph in a country with a max speed limit of 70mph.
Would I buy one? Yes most definitely it was by far the best 240 miles of motorcycling I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy and you don't have to be a riding god to enjoy the experience.
I agree with Cav though most of the R models will end up on track or by wealthy owners that give them limited use.

Re: New Panigale V4R
Am I the only one who really likes it?! When I was at MotoGP there were a couple in the bike park and I loved it. Yes a little plasticy on the side fairing but i dont think they can do much about it.
So bearing this in mind...who wants to hire an armature hit man. Never done it before but how hard can it be. I think £50k should be a good fee.....

Re: New Panigale V4R
Not seen the R model close up but the other V4 bikes look better in the flesh than pictures imo.

Re: New Panigale V4R
Agreed. Pics don't do them justice in my opinion. But neither did the current Daytona 675. There was a lot of hate over that until peolle actually saw them and decided it wasn't as bad as they thought...I was one of those haters then I went to our local dealer and I realised it looled smashing!
