Haha thanks for the thread, I am not looking too closely at BMW as the closer I look the more a warranty appears essential.

I am test riding a Kawasaki Z1000SX on Saturday and have found one locally which appears to be a gem of a bike!

Today I test rode a silver 2018 Z100SX and loved it apart from the warped front discs, and the trade in value on the KTM was laughable so I didn't do a deal on that bike. In a way it was the polar opposite of the KTM, turbine smooth up to 6K then a bit of vibration going a bit mad above 7K, like the speedo, the top end is really nice.
Handling was really positive on the greasy roads, it went exactly where I intended and never gave any concern, the steering was responsive but after being spoiled rotten by the WP semi-active suspension of the KTM getting pinged out of the seat was a surprise, but I can tweak the adjusters.
The bike was on Michelin Road 5's.

So, what next?

I rode the KTM to the other dealer in the same group up in Sheffield where they had a Green/Black 67 plate bike, more miles but looks brand new and has had a lot spent on it,
Lextek 4-1 exhaust and carbon can with a dyno tune to suit and a graph for 142bhp at the tyre. So probably a filter too?
Rizoma grips
New DID gold chain on Supersprox sprockets
New Avon Storm XM tyres, I hear these suit the bike so will give them a chance
And a tail tidy.

The bike was de-modded a lot before being traded so I will have a bit of fun adding my own touches to it, I said 'had' earlier because I have paid a deposit on it today, 2 of my friends know the former owner and how it was pampered so they convinced me that if I wanted an SX but didn't want to get the new one then this was the one to buy. They also offered more for the KTM which helped.

Because there is a large box of standard parts with both bikes I have opted for it to be delivered in their van, they are doing it for free on Friday.

Pampered? (rolf)

Just talking to one of my friends on messenger about it and he said this "Last time we were in lakes with him it started raining while waiting for ferry, don't think he was too happy. Had it stripped & cleaned as soon as he got home. Deffo a good bike to buy!."

I can recommend the power bronze double bubble screen. It makes a lot of difference.

Sat watching the rain and feeling glad that I opted to have the kawak delivered, should be here by lunch time and it should brighten up soon after.. I will give the GT a final check and make sure it's good to go.
