Frankie don't read this
I finally got round to the chemical decontamination wash I've been needing to do last night and it came up great!
Products (in order of use):
**** Autoglym Polar Blast at 3:10
***** Bilt Hamber Surfex HD at 1:10
*** Autoglym Magma (iron fallout remover)
***** Angelwax Nemesis (tar and glue remover)
**Chemical Guys Clean Slate at 8:1000
***** Gyeon Wet Coat
**** Carpro PERL at 1:3 (Plastics, Engine, Rubber, Leather dressing)
***** Koch Chemie Speed Glass Cleaner
***** Meguiar's Endurance Tyre Gel
(The asterisks represent a rating out of 5)
Why they lose marks:
Autoglym Polar Blast - Great product and quite cost effective but it lacks a little bit of cleaning power.
Autoglym Magma - A bottle has lasted 2 cleans of the bike and 1 clean of the car. I'm also not convinced it's mega powerful but maybe it's just because my car is well maintained and therefore there wasn't a lot to clean.
Chemical Guys Clean Slate - I originally kinda liked it on the bike, but this stuff is actually really bad so I'm just trying to blow through it. It's not very lubricating and thus prone to scratching if there's dirt in the mitt. It quite a powerful cleaner but it doesn't live to any of their claims.
Carpro PERL - Great product and it gives a very smooth and satin appearance to black plastic trim but being very watery it can run over your freshly protected paintwork very easily. It is multiuse though and can be used for tyre dressing, interior dressings and engine bays.
Why these are so great:
Bilt Hamber Surfex HD - It's an absolute powerhouse! Destroys bug splatter easily, gets rid of exhaust soot, brake dust, the lot. It has so many other uses such as interior plastics and fabrics too. Everyone should own this.
Angelwax Nemesis - Another powerhouse! It got rid of every bit of tar on the car without a problem. Spray all around the car then loop back and wipe off the tar spots. A 2nd application was required on a small number of spots then one wipe and they've disappeared.
Gyeon Wet Coat - so glossy and so beady! The only test remains longevity but it's expected to last 2-3 months on a well prepped car and it has proven self cleaning capabilities.
Koch Chemie Speed Glass Cleaner - I've spoken about this before and it was all confirmed again yesterday. Powerful and impossible to get streaking when using 2 microfiber cloths.
Meguiar's Endurance Tyre Gel - This stuff lasts! It's a semi-gloss appearance which I like and I've had this stuff for a couple of year but only just gone past half of the bottle. Never had sling and being a gel it doesn't dribble all over the rim.
