Pandora papers

Unsurprisngly Britain's right wing press is ignoring this scandal as no doubt the paper owners are using the same tactics to hide their wealth and avoid contributing towards society.

Its no wonder offshore tax havens are allowed to continue when so many of thsoe who drive any change in the law are using them for their own personal gain.

As one commentator pointed out, that is where our properly funded hospitals, schools and law and order are hidden.

The World media went into meltdown over Facebook going down though.

Aren't things are bad enough, without some religious fundamentalist attempting to overthrow democracy ?

,, on reflection, democracy does seem to be a failed system :?

Fair point, with our current luck we'd probably end up with Wolfie Smith.

Democracy is not a failed system...it only fails when the people who espouse it's virtues fall short of maintaining those very same principles themselves.
Like a car left to rot, democracy will go nowhere if left to it's own devices....driven forward through change, it will always make progress of some kind.

If you do ever meet him, don’t stand still for too long as he will want to impregnate you.

I suspect there's no way to admit this without offending you, so please accept my apology in advance Monty (blush)
but,,
,, not having ever met you in person, my mind map has always had you imaged/allocated as Citizen Smith. (smirk)

(giggle) ,,, sorry Monty, just put it down to another of my multifarious flaws. (& be pleased that at least you're not Duke63 ;) )

I don't know anything about that, but I can definitely see there being a conflict-of-interest if he's the premier of one country, and at the same time the tax-paying citizen of another. Wouldn't you agree...??

May concern a few of us, but you have to wonder if he would give a ,,,,, care.?
For example, would it set a precedence in the "conflict of interest" stakes, if his entire premiership had been funded surreptitiously by Russian Vory.?

@ StMarks...
I was thinking of it solely as a matter of being an issue of paperwork, to be honest. Anything more seems like guesswork.
