If there was a covid vaccine tomorrow...,

Post by duke63 »

.....would you rush out to have it?

Discussion at work today and 90% say they would not want to be a test dummy!

So who would want to be first?

Nope.

It takes more than a few months to develop an effective vaccine.

I'm happy to wear a mask and keep my distance.

No I wouldn't either.

The few who said yes were incredulous that anyone would think otherwise.

Apparently the Government are gearing up to start using/trying one next month.

It will come with a big disclaimer.

I’ve always been pro vaccination, but this vaccine I’m not very keen on. With no long term studies we will all be rolling a dice.

Work have said when it is available if we refuse to have it, we won’t have a job.

Surely that's illegal?

I had a chat with some pharmacists yesterday and they were arguing between themselves about the vaccine.. if they don't hold a common opinion then who am I, Joe public, to form a strong opinion.

One of the colleagues i was discussing with yesterday, his brother is a pharmacist and he rang him up to gauge his opinion.

He said he would be adminstering it to the general public himself..... and he would not take it.

It wasn’t put quite like that.

More, no vaccine you won’t be allowed on the platform and if you don’t go to work you won’t be paid.

I'm not sure whether it'd be legal or not (sounds like it would be, TBH)...but either way, by the time you'd had the opportunity to address it you'd be long gone, I should imagine.

Is it any different to getting jabs before you're allowed in a country? Don't some countries insist on it?

The way the many people are treating all this, i think they are here already!
I remember listening to a Scottish scientist working in America for one of the big pharma companies speaking about working on a vaccine as far back as Jan last year!!!! She was getting interview on a regular basis then just dropped off the news loop.
