It's not an "island" in any usual sense of the word, but rather an area where the density of plastic garbage residue/particles is higher (admittedly much higher) than anywhere else.... there's a similar, but much smaller area in the Atlantic.

Any country that has the sense to deport Katie Hopkins deserves full credit.

Now if they could just drop her off in the middle of the ocean thousands of miles from anywhere that would be perfect.

Yeah that didn’t go down well at all.

Sydney numbers are still growing, despite 3 weeks into lock down. Estimates are 3-4 months to get back to zero community transmission. If that’s true I’ll have to go through Howard Springs Quarantine for two weeks on the way to work next time as well as home. And now because of the delta strain we are not allowed to leave our rooms there for walking exercise. 4 weeks of stuck in a tin hut. Makes the hotel quarantine I did last year look like a doddle.

I see the UK is back to circa 100 deaths per day and the US 1000 deaths per day.

Not good considering we are still in the high summer time.

my company has officially mandated full vaccination (2 shots) is required to mobilise offshore from 01 December. If you aren't in that position, it's leave no pay until you are.

The upside is that they have a plan in place also by then that fully vaccinated personnel will not have to do the company pre-offshore quarantine from that date either, just be recently tested negative. So would give me a week less away and a week more at home. Atm, that won't have much effect on me, as NSW is a sess pit of COVID, I'm still required to do 2 weeks Govt. quarantine heading up as well as heading home.

1.5 weeks till I head off for 7 weeks, 4 or which are quarantine.

Rumours are that those who have not been vaccinated might have to quarantine for 10 days after visiting abroad, regardless of where they have been.

Doubt he gives a **** unless they are Tory voters. This is October, by January we might be back to 1000 deaths a day. The NHS seem to be saying they are on their coping limit now.
