It staggers me how many people in shops and indoor places dont wear masks - madness.

I always do.

I think even the Government admitted that to persuade people to wear masks again it would have to be made law.

I believe it is included in their winter plans.

I always carry a mask with me when I go out, but I don't necessarily wear one each & every time I go inside a place.... I see what everyone else is doing & then go from there.

The NHS has been overloaded every winter even before Covid, the crisis nobody is really talking about is the backlog of operations and treatments people are waiting for.
I dont think waving a flag on a Thursday for the NHS will get us through this winter

The NHS has 'lost' a third of its total bed numbers in just 20 years. That's why it can't cope.

Too many people believe the 'tax cuts are what's needed' mantra spouted by lying politicians without realising its they who lose the really important things needed for a coherent and just society.

There are some scary figures in here. Official ONS figures.

There number of 5-14 year olds being hospitalised by covid is 74% higher than in January 2021.

There is a lot of what shouldnt be done ,so what are peoples solutions to the current pandemic ?
The booster programme isnt working because there is now a large committee of people arguing who what when should be done, the previous vaccine roll out was controlled by 4 people who had the authority to make a decision on the spot
Do we really want to be locked down again and will the general public comply this time around ?

Their heads need to be spiked on a fence, not sitting on it.

The budget is typical on how this Government works. Lots of hot air, plenty of bullshit and very little substance.

They claim to be a green Government and then make domestic flights cheaper...domestic air travel is the most polluting form of passenger travel in the world.

Would you rather they made them more expensive? - that would at least encourage more people to take the car instead & clog up the roads a bit more??
There's no doubt that planes pollute more than road vehicles, but I'll wager there's very few people who commute by plane on a regular basis.
Planes are like buses - they're going to run no matter whether at capacity or near-empty...... which would you think is more efficient?

:D Fair enough. Trains are actually a pretty good option if the routes work for someone.
How many trains are electric over there these days.... I'm guessing around half of them, give or take??

Ummmm? (wait)

Just my whole industry and the other number of industries that use Fly In Fly Out here in Australia. There is 60,000 FIFO in mining alone, 17,000 in Oil and Gas… bit more than a few.

So how much did you want to wager?? Cause I’m down.
