Re: Parcel delivery

Our Postie is very good. He knows the route and the people who are usually in so he will take a parcel to them.

Parcel Force aren't much use.

Re: What would you do?

Generally I don't really get asked to take the lid off, but I wouldn't be too fussed if I was asked. It only takes a few seconds. However, at a pay at the pump I wouldn't be quite so cooperative. The point is you secure payment before you can ...

Re: What would you do?

I have an issue with it. Why should I have to take my helmet off when some one in a Burka (for example) wouldn't. Seems like I am less trustworthy which I object to. Having said that I cant remember the last time I was told to. Well apart from a ...

Re: What would you do?

I know I'm in the minority here as this was raised a while back on the old site, but I really don't see what the problem is.

I take my lid off every time I fill up, rain or shine, cold or hot, so it's probably why I don't have an issue with it.

No beef here!

Re: What would you do?

Never atcually been refused. I can however see why they ask you to remove your lid but does it really warrant it?
I hate having to take the lid off and putting g it back on again it just takes the piss. All you want to do is fuel up pay up and ride away simple really!

Re: What would you do?

I would do the same. Sometimes I take my helmet off (if I've been out all day to get fresh air) but when commuting and it might be wet and raining and short on time. I don't want the hassle of having to take it off. Fortunately I have yet ...

What would you do?

I have been going to the local Shell garage on the bike for the last 5 years and have never taken my helmet off. I Have a chat while paying and all was well. But today I pulled in to top up, waited for her to switch the pump on but she just pointed and said "take ...

It's not much fun when the work you're doing to pay for the good stuff doesn't give you time to do the good stuff.

I take it jobs in your sector are hard to come by?

Ebay advice

I'm selling something on ebay and I didn't put a reserve on but the item is not going as well as I thought it would, am I right in believing I can take it off sale and if so how close to the auction ending ?
Thanks in advance.

Re: What are you doing today ??

Spent this morning shopping, had to take the little nutz's but it wasn't too bad. Spent the afternoon painting the outside of the man cave.

Now, knackered, and relaxing in the sun with a nice cold cider. :)

Cleaned, new exhausts, levers and pegs.

... Nothing special, essentially just black versions of the standard can. Sounded nice though, so dunno if maybe the baffles are more worn. Had to take all the back end off to do it though.

Bike is filthy. So gonna go round my old man's to clean it. Also gonna fit the new levers and foot pegs to my dad's bike from where he fell off. And damaged them. Then gonna fit some new exhausts. Nothing special. Will take a pic.

Re: Scrubbing in Tyres

I leave it a good 100 miles, I'm not a racer and don't tend to ride to quickly but I do take extra care when on a fresh set of rubber. Lean over gradually over the miles. The pair I have atm are at about 250 miles so far and the chicken strips are massive so I still ...

Re: Scrubbing in Tyres

... where I did my bike training did, just do a burnout in a big pile of gravel (giggle) The second part is about heat cycling the rubber which does take a while depending on how long your rides are and how hard you push the tyres. This is probably why racers can scrub the tyres in much faster on ...
