Re: Hayfever season

I get it awfully, to the point I've almost ended up in hospital as my throat as swollen shut and I couldn't breath, I normally take 2 of the 1 a day pills and have eye drops handy at all times to stave it off

I love watching the TT, Blade, and I take my hat off to those who do it but............ There are some aspects of it that don't sit too comfortably with me and that article brings some of them out into the open. There is without doubt an element ...

Re: 675cc Rideout - 8th June - Leicestershire

I've suggested to Deano that we meet at Tamworth Services Junction 10 M42. There's a petrol station there we can use as a rally point.

It won't take us long to get from there to the Vic Pub. So we can meet at the services at 9.30.

Re: Engine temps again

Alan and Chris, I would take the fan off and clean the rad fins out. To be honest it's not a big job to take the rad off an clean it properly.

I did mine a few years ago and while it was off sprayed it with exhaust paint

Getting paint off metal

... getting the old paint off and prepping it? I presume that the costs will be lower if I do a lot of the work myself so I'm tempted to see if I can take the paint off and clean the tank up. Can I use something like nitromors or will that damage the metal?

Re: Daytona 600 coolant leak.

There's a bleed nipple on the water pump by your left foot, but I normally take the bottom hose off. (same side)

Make sure you close nipple up properly after you've filled it. I've forgotten to do that twice and got a very wet left foot!

Re: Daytona 600 coolant leak.

Hi and welcome Paul, as Monty says you take off the rad cap, extract enough coolant to get the right amount of rad weld in and then top off and replace the rad cap. The tank you put it into is only an expansion tank iirc, when the coolant heats ...
