Re: Foggy and Whit

I don't doubt racing bikes is much like riding road bikes in so much as some bikes feel great instantly you get on them and others are hard work. It was specifically the front end they said was crap. They reckoned the front had too much rake.

:D

Close. They said this bike had the vaguest front of any race bike they had ever ridden. Great engine and great looks but front was not up to racing.

Re: Brake Pads

I wasn't overly impressed with the SBS pads yesterday. Clearly they're geared up for the road. On the track they heated up very quickly and did a great job of stopping the bike, but they're very wooden. There was very little feedback from them and they were a bit grabby. Which pads Kwacky ? I ...

Re: Kwacky's Mallory Report

I had a cracking day - the SV is a pleasure at Mallory, and I particularly like the bit when people ask what I've done to the engine to make it so fast ... "Nothing, it's stock" ;-)

Great to meet everyone - promise I'll get along to some of the road events this year!!!

Blade that's a great bit of safety equipment. Think that might be a design that would be rolled out onto a few more lids in years to come :-) I agree, but I wonder how many of out emergency service personnel are trained and know ...

Re: Time for a new lid!

... GT air surprised me when I tried it on, it was very similar, with the drop down visor, which can be put into any position, not just up or down, great for changing light levels.

... with me in my new threads!!! (clap) The suit I've got is a Spidi Poison two-piece...it's a lovely suit, a bit retro, built in lycra vest which is great, mainly black with white highlights, and gold flashes & stretch panel on the back...should sit nicely with Morph's gold logos. spidipoisontracksuitblk_lg.jpg ...

Re: Time for a new lid!

There's a shop near Nuneaton that stock the Nexx helmets (think you can order from their website too) I went and tried them on. Theey do look great, but I wasn't sure about the finish here and there. Might just be something to do with carbon fibre lids (not looked at one before).

Re: Time for a new lid!

That emergency release system is a great idea, Arai use the same idea on their RX-7, not sure why the big manufacturers haven't rolled this out across their ranges.
