Re: Road Tax Rip Off
Yeah, but what was the cars year 1 road fund license?
Work the "showroom tax" over a few years and you can see how your current road fund license is low.
You don't get something for nothing in this country..

Road Tax Rip Off
Just renewed the bike tax.
1000cc bike £82.50 for 12 months
I renewed the car tax last month
2000cc car £30 for 12 months
I don't know my bike emissions value but I would be very surprised if its nearly 3 times my car which has an engine twice the size which is pro rota what I'm paying.

Re: Bank Holiday Monday Rideout - Buxton
I'll be there.
I'm tempted to have a spot of brekkie first, Monty-style (not rushed, just chilling out).
It's only an hour to get there for me. Well, it's an hour and a half if I take some decent roads up there instead of all this straight road nonsense!

What to do if bike thieves are following you
... They know and I know what’s going on. Spying a police van at a set of lights, I stop in front of it, the scooter shoots off left up a side road. I don’t feel like the problem has gone away, I feel like the problem is hiding round the corner watching me. Something else to think about if ...

... drove at excess speed but thought you would get away with it. Are you sure the cameras are not average speed. They tend to be used for road works as they want drivers to drive at the slower limit not just slow for a camera and then drive like a ****. If you do get multiple NIP's then ...

... I am wracking my brain now to think how I've been going through the camera's each time. Normally I am on the cross hatching in the middle of the road too and not passing over the speeding lines.

Caught Speeding.... bugger.
Been caught speeding, but now I'm worried I may get more letters.... There's road works on the A5. It is normally a 50mph limit. During the road works they have dropped the limit to 40mph. right at the point where there's a speed camera. This is about half a mile ...

... why is that so bad for other people??! I looked into taking public transport for college and found it would take more than twice as long (1hr by road normally Vs 2hr+ public transport) and I wouldn't be able to afford the public transport option either as it costs more than driving. The fuel ...

Re: Road Racing is Dangerous
People who don't ride bikes or enjoy bikes will never understand the passion bikers have for their sport IMO. That will forever be there loss and I sincerely hope they have something else to fill that empty void with as an empty life is a wasted life IMO. Bikes are not dangerous and anybody who disp...

It's a difficult one. They know the risks. Whitham and Foggy both said last week they gave up the TT as they knew there were only so many times you could push your luck there. It was interesting talking to the guy who designed the Alto Performance bike last weekend and when i asked him why he doesn'...
