Re: Gissa a go, mate. Downhill luge
I can tell you it is extremely good fun!! (nod) I haven't done it in Queenstown, but there has been one in Rotorua (North Island, not far from where i grew up) since my early teens. We used to go there regularly, before helmets were required and before they altered the track so you couldn't get 3 ft...

Re: Replacement 1 piece
i think they do ,you are relying on a zip to hold a two piece together in a crash, one piece is mainly a single leather panel I've crashed twice in my Berik two piece, the last one was a big'un and there was never an issue with the zip security. In fact, due to the way it overlaps I reckon I've got ...

Re: Our Guy in India
I heard on the radio this morning his autobiography was the second highest seller last year and is still 4th in the charts. He must have quite a few quid from his 'other' jobs (ie other than motor biking and truck mechanic) I really enjoyed it, just finished it mid January, best motorbiker autobiog...

This is mounted on the wing mirror with the handle bar mount, looks like a option worth trying!

Thanks for that info Duke... And cool clips!
I'm definitely not keen on the helmet mount so might have to try the side panel or something similar

Re: The Big C ......
All credit to her Spudda, she sounds like a tough spirit, I couldn't even imagine how hard it would be for her. I remember being quite depressed and not wanting to go out when the dressing came off my skin graft on my nose after the skin cancer removal, it was all skunken in and looked horrid. But i...

Re: Titanium
Grade 5 is the most common of the Ti Alloys. Its regularly used for machined parts. Most of our Titanium sheet metal in the aircraft world was 90/6/4 Grade 5.
I guess the main worry is cheaper sellers labelling it at grade 5 when the QC around the property of the metal isn't up to scratch.

Re: Our Guy in India
For a bloke who doesn't like the limelight he seems to spend a lot of time on the tele. But he only does the stuff he's interested in, he's turned down a fair bit he hasn't been into. From his book he said his motivation was to get to do stuff he normally wouldn't get to do. I really like him and h...

Re: SJ 4000
As Blade said, go-pro mounts are compatible so I use a go-pro suction mount and tie it on with a short cable just in case. Hasn't come off yet! The one thing I would say to watch is make sure you mount to something fairly stable/solid. I mounted it to my pillion cover and the footage was a bit wobb...

SJ 4000
Just after some advice from those of you that have one... After a hot tip from Blade, I'm set on getting one of these for my NZ trip, but having no experience with them I have a few questions. Has anyone used the suction mount on a bike? I know the Go_pro one is very secure (rated to 150 mph). As I'...
