Re: Brexit thread

It never went away, we've been subsiding other country's services via foreign (sometimes foreign state) ownership for forty odd years.

Re: What do you want to vent about today?

People who dont do the job right first time! Had the Jag serviced yesterday. Major service as it hasnt been done for 2 years because of Covid etc etc. Needed new brake disks too, so cost a few quid, but needed doing. Not done at a Jaguar stealer - would have been double the price, ...

Re: Work

I'm really hoping for a change of luck, as a mechanic my boss took me off a 3 1/2 year apprenticeship after 3 years for no apparent reason, I was top 3 in EVERY test and 2x more efficient than my targets and improving... So I'm not actually a qualified mechanic, but have proven ...

Re: Work

For the near future, 10-20 years, I'd say quite the opposite. I think world+dog+mates will all be heading to the ev world. Proper mechanics who can actually wield a spanner in anger will be in shorter supply. However HGV is looking like ...

Re: What are you doing today ??

Ordering my new workshop roof.

Over £900 for a rubber roof which is guaranteed for 50 years... or £200+ for a medium quality felt which will last 4-5 years.

Bloody home ownership!

The racing was entertaining but I reckon the riders will be glad to get back to warmer climes. Rossi threatened a top 6 finish but he just ...

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??

Headed over to Crossgates and did the A483 run. The roads were almost empty.

Did the A4112 which I've not done for years. I think the last time I rode that was with Bratty.

Got the miles needed on the SX for its first service.
