Re: The electric car revolution

UK car output suffers the worst October for 65 years,
It is the chip shortage that is holding back production, it is not lack of demand. Order books are buoyant, and if we had consistently invested in our UK manufacturing sector through the years, we would have been in a much better position.

Re: The electric car revolution

It doesn’t create any emissions either. Isn’t the ICE a very poor use of energy in efficiency terms? Not studied any of this stuff for 40 years or so, so what was known them doesn’t compare to the current world, which also leads to the point that our way of travel in future generations will ...

... long journeys, now they don't have to because the infrastructure matured. The way we travel is going to have to change dramatically in the coming years. Regardless of electric cars, oil has a limited lifespan anyway as its not a renewable source and we are using it up at a rapid rate.

Personal vehicles will not be the main mode of transport in 25 years time. I’m pretty certain that is the plan of those in charge.

Re: The right to protest

Fascist comparisons might not help, but it doesn't make it not fascist. We've been slipping slowly into it for many years in many countries all over the world and the parallels with the 30s are right in front of your face. You've only got to look at old newspaper headlines and compare them to today.

Re: What are you doing today ??

Went car shopping. Had the smart for 2 years and it's been great for short commutes and running round town. 180 miles of mainly motorway however is much less fun. Put a deposit down on this, still small enough and cheap enough to run as a second ...

Re: What you watching?

Holy missed opportunities, Batman!!

That show looks great! - I've never seen it, and it's been going for 5 or 6 years????
Whenever I've heard the name, I'd assumed it was about the ocean, or undersea colonies, or sommit similar. Damn.

Cannabis

... plans to legalise it. There's not much detail at the moment Spain and Netherlands already have limited use laws and Portugal decriminalised it years ago I wonder if we'll start to see a relaxing or change in the laws in the UK? We're already the largest legal grower in Europe.

Re: Rossi

On the subject of Rossi's legacy I will always remember the early years at Yamaha with Burgess , qualify in 10th and still be confident in winning the race , somehow they always managed to find something on a sunday and it was magical and mesmerising to watch .

Re: Marquez

My wife had to have scans done for a potential detached retina as per Marquez, a few years ago.

They told her it can be life changing and no guarantee of a fix. Effectively its like a curtain coming over your eye and blocking much of the vision in that eye.

Re: Yamaha all at sea

I don't see them getting the fines paid, it will end up in courts for years and years and years.... someone will make money out of this one !
Shortages of goods will end up costing us all more money in the end as well.
