... good. I clean the chain every month or so (or when it looks dirty) and lube 2-3 times before cleaning. I think I've had the same chain for 2 or 3 years now and it's not needed adjusting in at least 1 year

You'll have to put up with that for a few years yet - they do the same for them at school.
