Re: The electric car revolution

The size of the world population isn’t the issue but it’s the way a percentage of that population consumes. Sorry Duke, but that is utter funk. It is the same old argument that is always rolled out by those who prefer to stick their heads in the sand. ...

... studied any of this stuff for 40 years or so, so what was known them doesn’t compare to the current world, which also leads to the point that our way of travel in future generations will likely be something most of us have no knowledge of currently.

Re: The electric car revolution

In a convoluted way I suppose you can say that rainfall is due to the sun. Let's look at it in terms out output per input.. Scientists are still working on Nuclear Fusion which would power the world effortlessly and is meter-able. ...

Re: The electric car revolution

People used to carry petrol cans in the car on long journeys, now they don't have to because the infrastructure matured. The way we travel is going to have to change dramatically in the coming years. Regardless of electric cars, oil has a limited lifespan anyway as its not a renewable ...

Re: How Many Fingers

4 on the clutch (when it needs to be used) and 2 on the brake. That's the way I was taught and it's stuck. I will admit that most of the breaking force does really come from a single finger though, the brakes on the BMW are so good not much pressure is needed. ...

How Many Fingers

... When I see pictures in MCN or some other mag I see some riders riding with one finger on the clutch and one on the brake. I'm thinking there's no way you can pull the clutch in with one finger (I need 4). One fingered braking? One slip of the finger and you're no longer braking. I ride with no ...

Re: The Daily Post Election Politics Thread

For local journeys, we have become lazy and self centered. I don't see any way back from where we are, even pricing per journey will still be justified.. lift sharing just won't work because you won't be home the nanosecond you think you need to be. There will ...

Re: MotoGP test photos

... in some images.? It appears to be for keeping the leading edge of the disc out of the wind , thereby keeping it warm ??? Also some extend all the way to the wheel rim I can only conclude that this is for some kind of aero effects . Just speculating , I'm not an engineer .

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??

Went on a club ride. 12 of us. Rode round Herefordshire and Shropshire. Roads were a bit too greasy for my liking but hey ho. Ran a squirrel over on the way to the meeting point :S I was following a lorry, squirrel came out of a hedge, darted back in and then darted back out under my front wheel.

Re: Crighton CR700W

... very satisfying when you got things right but very painful and expensive if you got things wrong . True, but it is not 690cc in the conventional way of thinking. Very hard to compare the volume of a Wankel engine with a traditional four stroke engine.
