... winter use the manufacturers recommended pressure. If you run with a low pressure then the grooves will close up this preventing them from doing their job of getting rid of water between the tyre and the road.

RIP fella, always sad to hear of a rider losing their life.
Trackday deaths are fortunately very rare, the only ones I’ve heard of all involve an impact to the rider from another bike, please be careful folks.

I've no idea on the lifespan but it comes with a 3 year warranty which sounds like they have faith in their product.
