Getting paint off metal
... getting the old paint off and prepping it? I presume that the costs will be lower if I do a lot of the work myself so I'm tempted to see if I can take the paint off and clean the tank up. Can I use something like nitromors or will that damage the metal?

Re: Daytona 600 coolant leak.
There's a bleed nipple on the water pump by your left foot, but I normally take the bottom hose off. (same side)
Make sure you close nipple up properly after you've filled it. I've forgotten to do that twice and got a very wet left foot!

Re: Daytona 600 coolant leak.
... ignorance... is there a drain plug on the rad ? I took the right hand side mid fairing off, to get to the radiator cap. I'd guess that I need to take the left side off ? Booked myself a trackday at Oulton Park for later in the month & just want to make sure it's all running fine. I don't ...

Re: Daytona 600 coolant leak.
Hi and welcome Paul, as Monty says you take off the rad cap, extract enough coolant to get the right amount of rad weld in and then top off and replace the rad cap. The tank you put it into is only an expansion tank iirc, when the coolant heats ...

Re: Hydration packs
... they work well but need a regular clean out/sterilisation or you pop them in the freezer in between rides to keep the bugs at bay. Not sure I'd take one with me on a Rideout, but if you don't stop regularly and need something on board I'd be looking at either the ones that fit in some race humps, ...

I decided to take a run through the gorge and out the other side to see where the road went to, glad I did as it's quite a road and also useful for getting back ...

... bikers. We can never be protected from living and all the dangers living throws at us. I'm glad as individuals we can still make personal choices, take responsibility for ourselves and live our own lives as much as is possible. To all the bikers who have been taken from our world too quickly I ...

Re: Weekend plans
Quite night tonight.
Tomorrow, check out the route for the cheddar ride and then try to get to Stow in time for a slice of cake.
Sunday, take the kids swimming in the morning and then take the eldest out in the afternoon to give Mrs Nutz a break (part of the deal for being out all day sat)

If you get banned and have to get to work , just keep riding anyway. The fine will be less than having your house repossessed. Insure the bike under your lasses name and never take your helmet off outside the house

I'm going round to the brother inlaws house to watch boxing and have a take away, I couldn't honestly say who will win which makes it a good fight to watch, there's some other decent fights on the bill as well.

I really don't trust my doctor.
I went to see him the other day to tell him I'm suffering from bulemia.
He gave me one tablet and told me to take it 3 times a day.

Re: TT 2015 Accomodation
Mrs Nutz and I where talking about the TT the other evening. She was asking if I ever wanted to go. I'd have to say the answer was yes, just to take in the atmosphere. But I don't think I would ever take the bike over on TT week. As has been previously noted, the mountain section is closed more ...
