Re: The Daily Post Election Politics Thread

... HGV licence faster, I held my licence at the age of 17. It was all I ever wanted to do, drive trucks, I had that vision of being a knight of the roads, bringing the goods to everyone, providing a service everyone needed. What I didn’t take into account was the absolute abuse my profession would ...

Re: Rapid Training

As Kwacky says, it sounds like you might benefit from joining a club like IAM or RoSPA instead of doing this course. They'll teach you a whole array of road craft techniques and you won't feel rushed to learn everything in one go.

Re: What do you want to vent about today?

... 3pm, drove towards where I am staying this week (about 40 mins). Steam starts coming from the bonnet (so i thought), then a little way down the road, no air con, then no power steering. I manage to get it home and get the bonnet up - oil everywhere. Seems they didnt do the oil filter correctly ...

Re: Back on a Kwak

I'm not technical enough to understand or answer your questions (lol) (lol)

I'm just going on my experience of using road tyres on the road and whether I like them or not. These aren't very good. I don't like them.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??

Cleaned it, a bit pointless, but at least I'll know it's clean under road filth.

Re: Fundraising - Tips & Tricks

You want it to have more off-road?? Why? - you can't get anything like the off-road mileage in as you'll be able to on asphalt.

Re: Fundraising - Tips & Tricks

I just mapped out an approximate 100miler on Komoot... that's a lot of riding! This route has more than 7000ft elevation gain and takes me into Wales and over the Severn Bridge. The unfortunate thing is that nearly 50% is road riding.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??

Took the MV out for an evening spin. Went over Driotwich way. Had a run in with a dick in a skoda who kept trying to block me on a country road as I was trying to over take him. Prick.

When I was filling up a lad came over to tell me I've got a focking sexy bike (lol)

Re: F1 Red Bull v BMWM1000RR v Porsche 911 Turbo

That Porsche will dick all over any ordinary rider on any bike on the road. It will do 0-60 in less than 3.5s no matter the surface or launch control.

I would like to see the race done again with the lowest downforce for the F1 car

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??

Metzeler M9RRs I had fitted earlier in the season are the most confidence inspiring road tyres I have ridden on. Fabulous in the bends.

... happy to just follow him. All of a sudden from around 50mph he came to a complete halt. Nearly went up his arse (sweat). In the middle of the road was a big sheet of insulation that's used behind walls. Must have fell off a lorry.

They are great fun on the road. It's not hard to ride them fast but you still feel in control.

Ducati Streetfighter V4S demo ride

... down to keep it safe. Loved the bike, loved borrowing it, would love to take one on track but my Street RS is ultimately more involving on the road.

... it for long. It was a big bike and heavy but it was pretty nimble for its size and you could have fun on it. Lovely sounding engine and fantastic road presence. There's loads of photos of it in the Your Bike section.

Re: Perkles Pani

Sounds like you're enjoying yourself and the new toy. As for the suspension settings, for the road you'll just want to soften it off (particularly compression). Does yours enable you to have the separate settings for "braking support"? Yes it’s got all that ...
