Re: Sunday 29th June -Didcot - Cheddar Gorge
Glad you all had a good days riding lads.
Myself, Squadron leader Dale and flight lieutenant Andy had a mega day flying round mid Wales.
320 mile of smiles and only rain was I turned into my road, I'll have that

Got the replacement plastics for the kwak. As he's racing his bike he gave me most of the road parts so my bike will look like new when it's done. As I use the bike all the time and seeing as I'm now skint for a couple of months I'm going to wait before I put the new ...

Re: Watch out for those Gendarmes this summer
... any stickers on yet. Suppose I should :) Also remember that bikes in France do not need an mot. Ever. There are some really shitty bikes on the road too, so they were probably looking to pull older french bikes over. I've been to bordeaux today and seen a couple of mobile sites with 2 motorbike ...

Re: Watch out for those Gendarmes this summer
... because he was a single biker they could make anything up. We just got back from Pyrenees and through France on some of the long straight boring roads we were tanking on a bit. Then cars started flashing us and bikers waving us to slow down and on getting to a village at 50kmph there were police ...

Re: Weekend Plans
Well I was in Cologne last year which is just down the road. We went to Leverkusen for the football.
It was mostly bars and beer when I went. Lads long weekend.
Cologne is worth a visit. The Cathedral is magnificent. There are some very nice bars along the river as well.

You might say it was a large pebble
but I think it was a small boulder.
It was a large rock in the middle of the road as. I was coming round a bend, I think I target fixed it and then hit it, threw me up in the air and out of my saddle, but I managed to save it.
More expense.

Give me a 100BHP, 140kg bike and a decent B road and I'll be a happy Monty. Yep that would do it! Nice find Duke. I've always said that I'll always be a sports bike rider, but the more ...

Re: Panigale 1199 test ride
Yup, I reckon 120 / 130hp is great on a sports bike. It's the lower down torque that makes the difference on the road IMO.

Re: Panigale 1199 test ride
... to 100mph i doubt there is very much in it between a decent 600 and a new litre bike. I have said for a while if Ducati brought out a lightweight road-friendly sportsbike with about 120 bhp i would be first in the queue.

Re: Panigale 1199 test ride
I still think somewhere between 100 and 120 it perfect for the road. Any more and I don't think many of us mortals can get the extra power down. I never really see much difference in speed on the road ride outs between 600s and litre bikes.

Re: Panigale 1199 test ride
thats the only good review ive read about an 1199 i don't think the motor makes any sense on a road bike unless you are very very talented. It didn't like being under 50mph at all in Sport mode and the throttle was very sensitive even then. If you did a lot of track riding ...
