Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled

... would love to race it at the TT, how good would that be ? Guintoli says he wants to buy one with his own money. He says he would ride it on the road too. His exact words were "you couldn't buy one and just have it in your garage and not ride it.....how terrible would that be ? Like having ...

Re: Sales calls

Oh Jesus Christ. When I hit that bloody great rock in the road last year, the RAC must have given my number out as I was inundated with fecking ambulance chasers. They were rude and aggressive, really unpleasant. They have finally stopped, but god knows it was a pain in the arse.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??

That's the way the law has been for a while now. Convenience is another factor. The zx6r is off the road. Brum gave me a loan bike. If it wasn't fit the rear tyre the service editor have been me riding there, getting the loan bike, going to work, then riding back after work ...

Re: A taste of the roads

... Baden-Baden, a gen 1 and a gen 2 Tuono infront and me on my RSV mille. With the lay-by being on the right I can only assume that I thought the road was wider than it actually was. I panicked braked when I realised I wasn't going to make the turn, grabbed a hand full of front brake, bike stood ...

Re: 1299 v R1 Road Test

Strange how they're not convinced the R1 is good for the road when so many say it is . I guess it depends what you're looking for in a bike.

They seem to love the 1299.

Re: Martini Panigale

That's the way i read it too. V4 racebike that you can buy ( probably for silly money) and the Panigale to become the road going sportsbike of choice.

I notice the editor of PB magazine says the 1299 is already a better road bike than the R1-M.

Re: Martini Panigale

... for wsbk racing. If that is true could be a win win as the v4 would be awesome but would also allow the 1299 panigle to be further developed as a road bike with no compromises for racing needing to be considered.

... could create a limited edition motorcycle specifically designed for racing in WSBK and at the same time to sell to collectors in the wake of D16RR road a few years ago, combining the competitive end to the commercial. Such a move was made by Honda back in 1994 when it marketed the RC45. The V4, ...

Have just seen this on the BBC news site, tragic news - the "Flying Doctors" have been responsible for saving many a life on the Road Racing scene. RIP Doc John, you're flying with the legends today. :(

Re: Martini Panigale

Does no one else think that's just a little bit too close to gsxr blue? Especially the tank. The only reason I'd choose 899 over 1299 would be cost. If the 1199 hadn't got panned as a road bike in reviews the choice would be a lot harder. Probably why used 899 prices have stayed so high!

Doc John - RIP

... In the early years of that forum he was a very big part of it. He was a Doctor who was a motorcycle mounted Doctor who attended many of the Irish road races to provide medical cover at an instant for any accidents on the road races. This gives you a little idea about what he did in his job. http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/life/features/flying-doctor-how-a-medic-is-helping-to-make-biking-safer-31217208.html" ...
