Re: Old Skool Biking

... like having old skool and the latest electronictrickery stuff. I would agree though that a well set up old skool bike will be just as quick on the road but then its not all about speed on the road but how riding the bike well makes you feel. I'm still tempted to take the 748 on track next year ...

Re: Old Skool Biking

... I was definitely as quick if not quicker on a well set up 130 bhp superbike than I was on a 190 bhp missle with all the electonics on the same roads over the last few days. Even with all the electronic management in the world the top end of a 190 bhp sportsbike is largely redundant on the road. ...

Re: Old Skool Biking

I wouldn't expect much difference on the road between the two bikes, at least not without a full frontal lobotomy!

Re: Motogp-stylee front brake lever guard

I'm going to track some down for the trackie. I need all the protection/help I can get.

It looks good on the ZX6 Kwacky and it's functional, the fact you might never have the need for it on the road is moot, cause you just might.

Re: Motogp-stylee front brake lever guard

cant see the point of them for road use apart from bling, in a racing/track day context i can vouch for them, ive had too many near misses for me to justify fitting one, and can name people ive raced with that wouldnt of crashed if they had of had one fitted, the most recent being last weekend.

I have the slightly shorter ones on mine (supposedly to stop the digging in) and they did their job at Oulton. My bike slid ...

Re: Want!

Iirc Ducati have used adjustable rake on both their race bikes and some of the road homologation "R" models, so it's not a new idea to vary the rake in that way afaik. I can't see how it would vary the rake if the bars were turned, but you'd only have ...

Re: Want!

The 899 has different geometry which the 1299 now shares Andy and this has made it a better road bike compared with the lively 1199. No idea how bearings could change the rake. You would need different yokes or an eccentric adjuster I would have thought. Not saying it's ...
