It never went away, we've been subsiding other country's services via foreign (sometimes foreign state) ownership for forty odd years.

Re: Back on a Kwak

... tyres are very hit and miss, they move around a lot and they liked to push the bike out wide. I'll have a play with the pressures but having read other SX riders reporting the same I suspect a new set of boots is the best option.

Re: Brexit thread

1768. That is apparently when Corsica became part of France - I had to look it up, because mid-19th century seemed way too late & I remember that Napoleon was a Corsican, and it appears he was born just shortly after the island changed hands.
Other than that I know nothing of the place.

... and they do leave slippery brown patches in places. I was inspired to go there by a French biker mate, and it was the best choice compared with my other options which were: Around the Iberian peninsular - Spain and Portugal, or across France to go around Switzerland clockwise.

Oh yeah just one other gripe, the standard seat is very firm and ok for an hour or so, after that it's just no good and not being a full on adv riding position standing ...

Re: Getting the Mrs on the Back

I only have a single seat on the Thruxton so that’s my solo ride time. E002DCC2-C36B-4721-841B-3D0529A6FB73.jpeg 71238829-2FB0-45FE-9E31-7DACA0A26960.jpeg

Re: F1 Red Bull v BMWM1000RR v Porsche 911 Turbo

I think they were testing outright acceleration & braking numbers and those two alone..... start adding curves, hills, and all that other fun stuff & there's too many variables to assess them all without bias.

It wasn't a sell out technically as they didn't open some stands in Club Corner plus other stands. 67,000 is a good attendance for this day and age. Managed to sit on a few bikes that I'm eyeing up. Ducati Hypermotard, Pannigale, KTM ...

You can try and restrict or contain such things, but it's going to be an uphill struggle at best, and utterly fruitless - or worse - at the other end of the scale, simply fanning the flames & reinforcing those beliefs, no matter how misguided they may be.
