Re: Project ZX6R
... not having a garage. Each time I went to do some work on the bike it rained. Walking backwards and forwards through the house fetching tools and other bits you need gets tiring. I've got the grips on. They look good. The throttle is good when twisted but it's got a bit of play the other way. ...

Yeah until you realise you've left your phone in your jacket pocket .... undo the lock, move the chain, wheel the bike back, get phone, move bike back, resecure with the chain and relock .... and then you realise you've left your wallet in the other jacket pocket

Re: More motorcycle bashing by the Police
OK I have one bike which is e marked and has baffle fitted.
The other has no markings at all ? Where would I stand ? I think the e mark is relatively new.

Do any other forks fit ? Might be a chance to upgrade.
Or could Maxton offer new internals ? I know they custom make stuff and deal with classics as well as modern bikes.

Re: Putting hand up to car drivers who pull over
Generally they are quite good over here, but then again there isn't much traffic tbh! Bikers wave at each other with their left hand to the side and use the right foot to say thanks to drivers once you are past. Biggest issue over here is pissed Frenchmen in cars, especially ...

Re: The new improved fitness thread
After the success of Tuesday's ride (I went out just before 9pm so there weren't that many other people out and about) I went out last night and did an 11 mile ride at about 7pm. I have learned some things which may come in useful for any other visually impaired cyclists ...

^^^ What they said.
The only other thing I can add is, it will get better with time. You'll never totally heal but it does get easier.

... "thanks" with the hand. This∆∆∆ I've only ever see one person try and deliberately block me and it just made filtering past on the other side more enjoyable. I do see a lot of cars moving over for me including a few that do it going into a blind bend with traffic coming head on. ...

I do the "screaming at the bike" on trackdays, but other than that I'm usually listening to the radio or music so don't talk in my lid.

Re: Talking in your lid
When I rode down to the mother in law's the other week, I ended up speaking to myself in a myriad of different accents.
I was cold, wet and aching after 3 hours on the bike and started with a Cockney accent and worked my way through French, Russian, Scottish and Welsh.
I have no idea why.

Had a chat with a white van man at a set of lights. He was jealous I hadn't sat in the two mile tailback like him and the other cagers. Fair play to him, he wasn't being an arse. I love it when it annoys people. They don't understand the other stuff we do have to put up with though ...
