I'm making the point that even if we cut the deaths and injuries on our roads by half it's a good thing.

At least 95% of car accidents are caused by driver error on the part of one or more drivers involved. Even if we reduce that to 50% by using automated cars it's going to save lives and money.

There'll be deaths even after they're all automated methinks....failure of the programming to differentiate sh*t. Like you say, it's an aid to assist drivers, not something to stake your life on.
This happened before too....not a fatality, but some wreck in Colorado or some other podunk place.

I had a GPR and it's a fantastic piece of kit, but they hold their price so even second hand ones aren't cheap.
