sweet ill check about the room tonight the fun adjuster was a bit on edge over the last few days about a meeting at work so asking any questions regarding bikes would mean i would be surfing the forum from a hospital bed.

When hasn't the TT been very dangerous? Sure speeds are faster , but bikes are a different breed now to what they where even 10 years ago. Tyres, brakes, chassis, electrics, etc all have improved immeasurably. But riding on a road circuit against the clock ...

... doing trackdays, check the noise as some tracks fail RC8s with standard cans on when they are 98db days... Most trackday organisers will know what bikes pass with certain cans before you turn up.

It sounds he like he was quite upset by the death of bob and he was quite close to him I think when anyone dies that you are close to it has a big impact if its to do with bikes or not.

Check the battery connections first as previously mentioned I have had this very same problem occur twice on two separate bikes and on both occasions bad battery connection was the cause. If not that get a workshop manual or better still a wiring diagram and check the connection ...
