Bear in mind that only half of the properties on that list have a Price Paid figure, just the ones that do have a figure total amount of £255 billion.

So say double it and you have £500 billion of assets that do not long to a British company but cannot be removed from this country.

What I meant was winning the lottery made them happier, but after 3 years they were back where they started happiness wise.

Did anyone download the excel spreadsheet attached to the Private Eye website page? Do it and then sort the columns for your area and then be truly disappointed in how many local buildings are owned offshore. Loads of pubs are owned by offshore companies and a high proportion of City Centre shopping...

I don't think there's a right answer to this...everyone is different and will have different priorities...if XXX amount of money makes them happy then sobeit...whatever that magic amount is is irrelevant....BUT...leaving sommit for the kids is kinda important and one should try and imbue some fiscal...
