Then realised I didn't leave the house yesterday so ruined my pokestop streak and I haven't got enough days before flying to work to do another one

An hour - 30 minutes before a workout is perfect. I'm the same as you though, if I don't go straight away I won't be going

I don't really think about it to be honest. I was told to have some porridge or a flapjack about an hour before I go to the gym but sometimes there isn't time. If I don't go to the gym within about 30 minutes of getting home then I end up not going.
