Re: What the duck have I done to my car?!

The crankshaft pulley bolt came loose in the test drive after replacing the timing belt and water pump which caused the cams to stop rotating while the crank was still rotating.

Note to self: even if you torque a bolt up, use loctite!!!

... Bizarrely when you start the bike up from cold its very loud , as loud as if not louder than the 748 and shakes the ground, but then quietens down after about 30 seconds to a more normal tickover. Must be some sort of marketing ploy as it sounds awesome. :D 2016-07-03 12.23.21.jpg 2016-07-03 12.22.25.jpg ...

Re: 100 years since the Battle of the Somme - Friday

My maternal grandfather tried to join up before he was of age but was found out. He eventually joined up in 1916 and was sent to France but after the Somme battle. We have found out he became part if the Yorkshire regiment that became known as the Barnsley Pals even though he was from Norfolk. ...

... I am not trying to make a joke of this but the swelling of my backside actually had me quite worried. Then to top it all, blisters started to form after about 36 hours which then popped and made a right mess. So apart from the pain, the swelling an the mess of blood, my Mrs became concerned that ...

Pretty sure I have made some good progress on this today. After yesterday's trials proved fruitless I started to think my earlier theory of heat breaking the sensor down as unlikely so thought I would do some electrical tests. Made a little loom and connected ...

... troop movements...most of which will actually be non-existent units, and to have a few of those actually be real. You can pick out the real ones after the fact, but not before. The Special Air Service was actually named after one of those fake units, and then after Stirling et al had a few disastrous ...

Re: First death in an automated car

There'll be deaths even after they're all automated methinks....failure of the programming to differentiate sh*t. Like you say, it's an aid to assist drivers, not something to stake your life on.

This happened before too....not a fatality, but some wreck in Colorado or some other podunk place.
