Re: What do YOU think Cylinder Head Porting is?

When it comes to air a smoother surface actually hinders flow - airplane wings aren't smooth, they're deliberately textured to allow the air to move more freely thus creating less drag. I would love to make one from scratch using ANSYS (FEA) software to calculate a theoretical best result and then g...

What do YOU think Cylinder Head Porting is?

After a discussion with a colleague it quickly became apparent that there are different ideologies behind Cylinder Head Porting. My colleague and friend believes that increasing the size of the ports increased the volume you can pump in (volumetric flowrate) My belief is that you want to improve the...

Re: Weekend plans

Tonight: Gym with the girlfriend for some cardo, Netflix'n'chill and possibly do some homemade burgers with pulled pork and sweet potato chips. Saturday: Gym in the morning, day with the girlfriend doing whatever takes our fancy, probably a meal out in the evening to celebrate my girlfriend losing 1...

Re: The new improved fitness thread

No. I'm keeping track of my weight and how I look/how much stubborn fat is on my stomach. If I stay the same weight and can feel my skin fold getting thinner and I can see a difference in the photos then I'm happy. I think I'm about about 16-18% and I want to drop it to around 12% for June next year

Re: Technical Question - Suspension

P.S. Bike improvements are most worthwhile with rider improvements to match - track tuition is worth just as much in speed on track as bike mods and can be very satisfying. Here here !! As for what you were saying about the running wide when picking up the pace, without changing any settings I mana...

Grenade Thermodetonator pills.. I must say they're giving me a constant warm feeling in my stomach and chest - yay :)

They're fat burning pills by the way. Caffiene, Cayenne, bitter orange powder, and various other things. So say they work!

Re: The new improved fitness thread

So last night the girlfriend and I took our 2 month progress photos and whilst I wasn't looking forward to seeing them (I feel I've put on since the 1 month mark) there is more definition around the pecks and shoulders and a little less fat roll over my boxers. My back looks exactly the same except ...

Re: H2R Brands Hatch lap

Fwiw I totally agree with the comments re the Inters group, there are a lot of egos in that group that belong in novices (at best), the amount of reds shows the problems involved and although chrono days came about to prevent that, people don't like being told they're too slow for that group - very...

Re: 2008 CBR100rr track bike

Ideal.. if I had savings I'd offer you a part exchange (because no one can turn down a 2009 ZX6R!) with cash your way.

I'll let my mate know anyway, I'm not sure he was planning on spending that much though

I suspect you're probably right.

Yes, that really would be fun! haha.

I suspect Pedrosa might do really well next year. I hope so anyway. I don't think there's a single person (besides Rossi or Lorenzo) that would mind Pedrosa winning a title.

Re: The new improved fitness thread

I don't do enough cardio. I need to get my bike sorted and back on the road. It's only a cheap hybrid but it's good enough for me. I've been toying with the idea of getting a bike too and starting training for a Triathlon - then I realise how stupid that sounds! haha... I struggle with Cardio too a...

Re: Technical Question - Suspension

Typically the rear suspension is the weak link on Japanese bikes. I'd be surprised if a fork/shock refresh made any noticeable difference without changing the springs as the oil is still pretty new and probably not had a great deal of hard use. Next time you do a trackday, go to the suspension guy a...

Re: The new improved fitness thread

Nice ! I've done something similar. So I'll do Back, Chest, Shoulders, Legs on their own days. As well as that I do at least one day of mixed activities trying to use body weight as much as possible in place of weights. This includes: Jump squats with leg tuck, push ups, pull ups, 1 leg weighted squ...
