Track Tyres
I know asking opinions of tyres is never straight forward, but I'm going to anyway! The ZX10R I'm getting has Pilot Pure's on it, and the front is shagged, but he reckons the rear has a fair bit of life in it. I don't really want to have mis-matched rubber, so I'm thinking of just starting fresh. Th...

Re: I wonder who they think they represent?
I guess in Australia I can be thankful that there was an Federal MP that had an Autistic child and due to that the Early Intervention Package got passed. Provided us with $12,000 funding for therapies and educational aids. It was capped at $3,000 per year, and as soon as Byron turned 7 it was all cu...

Re: Do you remember your first ride?
I went on the back of the old mans bikes a fair bit as a kid, but my first attempt at riding solo was at 10 on my mates farm in shorts and jandals (flip flops) (facepalm) on a Honda XL 185 and I couldn't get a handle of the whole gears concept, jagged third somehow after a rolling start down a slope...

Re: Switching from Road to Track
I agree with Perkles in more track days is the best method. I can knee down on track but not on road and I'm OK with that. I'm the same, well I was last track day but that was three years ago. I found that once I had the body position sorted it was just getting my head around corner speed. The diff...

Looks better in the flesh, but the sound would take some adjusting to.

"Ta very much" back mate for a great place to hang out!! It's got me through a very boring night shift tonight!
I hope one day to get over for the TT IOM and swing by and catch up with as many of you as I can. I've talked 'her' into a track bike so anything seems possible!

Re: Who says electric bikes are only for geeks?
It's got some charm, but not as a bike... does look like a toy. Shame it will sound like a Dyson cleaner though. That's the big problem with electric bikes. What's the first thing any self respecting biker does when they buy a bike, puts a sweet sounding can on it. I don't think I'll find myself gig...

Aww crap Monty.. sorry to hear that mate, especially since a replacement isn't likely for a bit. Being without a bike suxs believe me. I know parting it out is a pain and your least fav option, but if you do, let me know what you've got to flog. Part of the deal with the missus with getting the ZX10...

Only damage was a new wheel and tyre. Still £631 quoted. :( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Triumph-Daytona-675-Front-Wheel-with-Tire-/171386587143?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item27e76fc807 Get it painted the right colour and you'll still be at 1/3 of that quote. It's hard to tell from your pic b...

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I don't know if it would help you, but I find running with a slight degree incline actually helps me land better, it's much more on the ball of the foot than the heel. I've also read the barefoot running can also be good for improving your landing, but it does change your running style so not a goo...
