Re: Stealing speed

Just bought it. Tried to get it in paperback as I save my good books for the helicopter trips but you can't take hardcovers on-board (possible projectile during a crash, though getting banged in the head by a hardcover would be the least of your problems!) but the cheapest I could find a paperback n...

Re: Beware of paracetomol packaging

I'm disappointed TC As a professional in the area of safety, I would've thought you would have applied the hierarchy of risk control and as you well know the first method of risk mitigation is elimination. It's obvious you could have elimination the risk. Should've got your wife to do it for you (lol)

I've hatched about 15 eggs this week and they've all been crap.
You get bonuses for catching more of the same sort of poke, so maybe they have something to do with that?

Re: Slipper clutches

Now I want to find out more about this self-servo mechanism.. So it appears its a fancy name for a simple added design feature. The faces that drive from engine torque have a reverse angle on them that pulls the clutch together, meaning they can then use lighter springs for the same power output, g...

Re: Slipper clutches

Been reading up on the Sigma website. Anyone know what the difference is for a 38 degree ramp compared to the standard ramp angle? It doesn't seem to say. All I can see is a 38 degree ramp clutch is more expensive. Also the site talks about using a slipper clutch to make downshifts clutchless. Whil...

Re: Slipper clutches

My Multi has one but I have never felt it working. From what I've just read Duke the Multi clutches aren't a traditional mechanical slipper clutch but a servo operated mechanism that decreases clutch pressure on overrun giving a slipper-like operation. For my part I didn't even know it had a slippe...

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??

It would have been one of the dullest rides into work, had it not been for a tw@!! in a white 4x4 Nissan who in Brum city centre decided to swing from a slip road across two lanes and almost wipe me out. Thankfully I saw him coming so I managed to hit the throttle, but it still needed him to spot m...

Re: What you watching?

A turtle getting chased by a black tip reef shark, but not successfully, as the turtle was almost as big as the shark. The sea is bloody flat out here at the moment so the wildlife is more visible. Though that's only the 3rd turtle I've seen in nearly 4 yrs.
