These will now be OEM standard tyres for the KTM 690 as from next year.

Great choice by ktm,I don't think they scrimp on tyres my rc8 had supercorsas fitted as standard

The 690 will be alot of people's first big bike and gets young riders into the brand and confidence in the metzler range and product early. Seeing as alot of people stay with one particular brand if they like and trust them it's a shrewd commercial move imo.

That's a move that makes perfect business sense - so long as they use the proper tyre and not an OEM one to improve mileage therefore sacrificing grip

Been quoted £120 for a new rear, fitted, with a new L shape valve.

Seems reasonable to me.

The currrent rear has just under 5,000 miles on it with life left but with spring not far off and a puncture to deal with it seems like a good time to get a new tyre.

Try tyreleader online Rossgo they are always hard to beat on price but remember to budget an extra £20 for fitting to loose wheels. Still normally works out £30-60 cheaper in my experience.

I said I would pimp them. £120 for a new rear fitted to a loose wheel is pretty good value.
