192kg according to Triumph. I don't know if that's wet or dry.

Edit: The video gives more info. 198kg wet.

£15,100 on the road.

I'm not sure on the tail but the bike looks great from the rear 3/4 angle from the fuel tank forward!

How good does that stock can sound too!

I've watched the video and the Fast Bikes video. It seems like Triumph have decided to make the Triple a lot sportier.

A test ride is in order.

Looks good.
The stacked pipes into a single can looks great. There's really not much to dislike, but those headlights are definitely a love 'em or leave 'em kinda thing. Small price to pay, I suppose.

Speaking of price...... :x

£15k isn't bad to be honest. It's about the same price as the Superduke R. The Tuono and the Ducati Streetfighter are about £18k.

I do like the bike but not sure it will be 50% better than my ST RS to justify the price.

50% better seems a bit arbitrary. Surely the whole point of bike ownership is to own and ride something you enjoy owning and riding?

It is.

But I would be surprised if riding one after the other that the extra cost was worth it. I bet even on PCP the new Speed will be about £75- £80 a month more expensive for the same deposit.

It reminds me of the old 600cc -v- the 1000cc sports bike debates.

The smaller capacity model will always be cheaper. It's the nature of the bike market. The Speed RS is fantastic value for money. I don't think the price of the Street undermines the possible capabilities and value for money the Speed might be offering.

Dunno, maybe I'm misreading what you're saying. To me it looks like the speed triple won't be worth it because it's not a Street triple and a half.

I guess it’s all personal choice.

For me and owning a Street I fail to see how the Speed can be that much better when it’s offering pretty much the same but more power and torque.

Fair enough. I have a tendency to immediately translate everything into dollars, cringe, and then start muttering aloud about "back in the day" etc.
The US prices are probably not quite so wallet-emptying.

£ prices tend to be the same or close to $ prices

Uk prices are inclusive of tax, US prices are exclusive of tax because they have different taxes in different states.

Had a bit more opportunity to look at the bike now. I love the stance of the bike. Reminiscent of Frankie's S1000.

Poised and ready for action.

It looks like the engine is rev happy. The BHP graph looks more like an IL4 but that torque line is all triple.

The old one is going to be slightly better at pootling.. a little more torque and bhp and cruising speeds but yeah, clearly no match for the rest of the curve. The new one is going to have a LOT of get up and go.

I've got my name down for a test ride. They expect the bike in mid March, but have no idea when people will be allowed to ride it.
