The MP for my Constituency only voted against the proper funding of public services and robust action to tackle tax avoidance and evasion. That's fairly standard prick levels and nothing I wouldn't expect from any MP.

I like my local MP, nice fella to talk to and when there was some flooding at the end of 2019 he showed up in wellies, gloves and overalls and got stuck in helping people, while others showed up in suits to offer thoughts and prayers garnished with empty promises.

He's a decent bloke. It's a shame he got scuppered by a bacon sandwich. Just goes to show how easily the press can manipulate the public

Just imagine how different things would have been if he'd got in in 2010. No BREXIT, no rabid nasty right wing government, possibly no austerity (debatable, but certainly less), a fully funded NHS that's not in a permanent crisis, much nicer politics and a public that keep their horrid racist views to themselves and their mates down the pub.

True, but his influence and is getting less and less over time particularly with the younger generations. Look at the 2017 election, we were 2300 votes from winning a majority with an entirely biased press and MSM.

But the shift to social media to influence people has been effective. The shit you see on Facebook should be unbelievable, but it's swallowed up and regurgitated.

That works both ways, I'm feeling quite optimistic about the next generations.

I think our generation is the divide. There's lots of people my age who lap up the media bullshit. But there's lots who know how to use google and check facts. I had a row this morning on twitter about the EU and the vaccine issue. A quick search online proved him wrong, but the EU is evil and Boris is everyones' bestest mate, so he wouldn't back down.

I'm in a 5 year gap where people very close to my age, IMO, are in the best situation personality-wise. We have a lot of the best traits of the older generations while we have the Tech ability of the younger generations. The gap we're in feels very divisive though and more often I find myself just staying quiet about a lot of things.

Don't forget we all live in quite small social bubbles (not just during the pandemic) so each of us might not be experiencing a true reflection of society. Plus ignorant people tend to say more and shout much louder.

The more I learn, the more I realise just how much I don't know.

We certainly are the divide politically, and one of the reasons I feel optimistic.

From that I'm a higher social class than most people my age.. Hmm. I certainly don't feel that way

People in my social class voted majority Conservative.

People in my age group voted a significant Labour majority.

Looking at the social class which voted majority Labour I'm in a different class.

FYI, I'm not saying one class is any better than the other nor do I believe any class to be better than another.
