Having listened to the speeches, I'm going to stick up for Boris.: He had only just returned on a flight from America, and was straight into the onslaught. All things considered, it seemed to me that he conducted himself fairly well. Whilst I am NOT condoning his response to the reference to Jo Cox, it appeared to me that he may have genuinely mistaken the basis for the question.

When I said "fairly well", the whole hose of commons act like a rabble imho, and there should be order & control at all times ( with an end to all the jeering & baying that drowns out & dumbs down any reasoned debate ).

The language he and some of his colleagues used yesterday in the House was a disgrace. Britain is being over run by right wing tossers due to the likes of him and the ERG.
I think there was misconduct on all sides in Parliament yesterday, but to single one person out due to your personal dislike for him is not a fair or reasonable stance, there has to be balance.

All public servants have a responsibility to behave in good conduct and yesterday all off Parliament was an embarrassment, they behaved like children. No, that's not fair, they behaved worse than children, as my kids would never dare behave like that.

A lot of MP's need to read this

Let's see what No Deal Brexit looks like and then have the GE about six weeks after shall we?

Empty shelves at Xmas including medicines? I wonder how Johnson and Cummings will explain that one?

Why?

Surely better to have it now so people have a choice to back a leave or remain political party based on their personal choice.

I understand you have strong feelings about remain Duke so why wait till you have missed your opportunity to vote and potentially instigate the change you want.

If people dont grasp this opportunity to express their view, but instead consciously choose to wait for an outcome their not happy with, then they have no right to moan and bitch about it afterwards imo (wasntme)

Grasp the opportunity I say.

The thread is a good read. It's just an opinion but it's interesting to see if any of this is going to be true.

A few people have said that Johnson (who had always been pro EU) is only talking about a no deal brexit to nullify the threat from The Brexit Party. TBP cease to have a reason to exist when we leave the EU so it's in their interest to get an election now.

Johnson knows that anyone promising to deliver brexit well get a following. His supporters date saying that publicly, they really don't give a shit what he's done or what he's said nexuses he's going to give them brexit

Imagine if Corbyn had lied to the Queen? People would want him beheaded.

So in brief, a general election now is nothing to do with brexit, it's an attempt by the conservative party to ensure 5 years in power.

If we left with no deal and it turns into a shitfest it will be easy for a new incoming Government to get a customs union agreement through a new Parliament.

Hopefully with all the benefits we have now but in name anyway we would no longer be in the EU.

They are all playing a game to get elected. Labours position is much stronger if the country has empty shelves. And the closer to Xmas that is then their case gets ever stronger.

Isn’t it the case that we could no longer have a GE before 1November now anyway? Don’t they have to dissolve Parliament 4 weeks before polling day?
