I think its a combination of her age and the fact the leukemia is quite advanced, TBH.

I guess someone at some point has to decide if expensive treatments are value for money and actually would give someone a life that is worth living. Having seen the damage full on chemo does, i'm not sure its right option in her case anyway.

The treatment she has been offered in some kind of less invasive chemo that is given by injection. They reckon it works in about 40% of cases but its not a cure, it just stops the cancer cells multiplying.

This sounds very similar to a friend of mine's mother. If it's any help, she has a similar injection regime for bone cancer and she's lasted 10 years so far and now in her 80's.

Oh how I've dreamt of bumps over the years , and with long legs and a short body my look is somewhat distinct (giggle)

bb41 the overall feeling I got from your post is ‘content’

That’s amazing place to be in and one people strive for but put all their energy into the wrong places.

Well done :)

That is a very kind reply thank you.. I sometimes think I'm wasting my later life but when I sit down and muse and want to have some hard plans I then decide I don't want to do any of them in reality....

Oh well back to painting the fence :)

It's not how we look that counts, it's how we live that makes the difference.
