I agree with duke, I never put my knee down on the road.

Aside from anything else, on a right-hander sticking your body off the side of the bike on the road means potentially putting it closer to oncoming traffic.

Not a good idea.

Same here - not for the road, besides the speed required being fairly deep into license losing territory, I'd be worried about R/Handers and catching a cats eye or stone with my knee.

This was me on my first and second track days, many moons ago. Notice my head was positioned over the middle of the bike and not at the side

And this was me on my 3rd track day.
Bike not leaned over as much, but my body is hanging off the side and my gangly legs making for touch down of the knee whoo hoo!

Recon we might be better off doing Motocross
