I was surprised it's eight, one hour episode's tbh.
Though it would be a one of documentary rather than a mini series

I've watched it.

I don't want to give too much away. I do feel that the documentary leads to you thinking a certain series of events is the likely outcome. They don't lay into the parents nor look at what the group they were with did, said and left out and it's very easy on the parents.

I was out for a meal last night with someone who watched it and it was clear to me they were on the parents side during the documentary.. fairly one sided approach.

I certainly feel like they or someone they were with had knowledge of it happening.

There's no body though, correct??
Without a body it just sounds like an abduction. Didn't someone witness a child being carried away from the resort??

It’s astonishing that vast sums of police money are being spent on this case yet when it comes to protecting the public here at home, we are told there is no money.

Multi millions.

Hmmmm. It seems over £11 million has been spent so far. I think you're right....they should just call off the whole thing before it gets into soccer-salary numbers. That would be ridiculous.

Imagine how many police officers that could be paying to be on the streets in the UK?

.....And imagine how pointless it would be, fielding those officers, if they are unable to complete the task they are paid to do, because it's "too expensive".
"Justice-on-a-budget" doesn't have much of a ring to it.

Justice on a budget is what most countries have , I think that money could have been better spent elsewhere within the Justice system . I also do not believe that it is in the purview of the British Police to investigate possible crimes that happen in a foreign country even if it does involve British citizens .
I say possible crimes because as I understand it there is not enough physical evidence to state that in this case a crime has been committed merely that a young child has disappeared . My personal opinion is that there is enough circumstantial evidence to hang the pair of them .

Every Government department is run on a budget.

How they choose to use the budget they are given, however, does not always work for the majority.

Approximately 8 ordinary constables per police authority (43 in UK) without allowing for employers contributions, uniforms and other equipment by my (very) rough reckoning.

*Average Constable salary @ £30k.

Since West Midlands Police alone has lost over 800 officers in the last three years, then i doubt it would make a huge difference but at least it would reverse the trend.

Watched first episode and a lot of it has no relevance what so ever. It focuses on people's lives who live there and pubs they've opened or their own childhoods weirdly.
