Lacquer

As mentioned in another post I intend to give the Kwak a good spring clean. The plastics needs a bit of TLC as the paint is thin and it's easily marked. The cover has rubbed it as well.

Once I've polished the plastics I want to cover them in laquer so it's protected and will be easier to maintain.

Is this something a muppet like me can do or is it advisable to get someone to do a professional job?

If so any recommendations in the West Midlands?

I know I keep saying it, but have you thought about venture shielding the bike?

Covertech have done my new car, can't recommend them enough. Based in Brum. http://www.covertechmidlands.com

The blog on there shows what they have done bikes and cars. They will sell you a kit too.

Cookie, I need to polish all the plastics before I can do anything. Seeing as I'm going to that effort I would prefer to lacquer the bike than cover it with ventureshield. I know it's good stuff, but lacquer is my personal preference. If the bike was brand new then I wouldn't bother with lacquer and would pick the ventureshield.

Thanks. I'll give you a shout when I'm back from holiday and let you know what I'm up to with the bike.

P.S. Did you get my PM about those boots?
